Help please. I have been having problems with my new computer of 2 months. Since the start I have had the computer freeze if I can back from standby mode. After that, I now have slow reaction time when programs are opening and sometime get the Dr. Watson Debug Error.

It was a new clean install with Win XP pro SP2. I have Adaware SE Pro running and Norton antivirus 2005. Used to use Norton systemworks but removed it on the suggestion of a friend to solve my problems.

P4-3.0GHz 3.0J, Asus p5gd1, 2gig OCZ Value Ram, 160 WD SATA, MSI 6600GT PCIe.

Here is the Hijack file

Thanks very much.

I can't find much wrong in your log.

Just have no clue what this is:
C:\Program Files\yProxy\yProxy.exe

Can you tell me?

Thanks for your help.

Yproxy is a yenc decoder for binary newgroups. It is safe.

I did go through my hijack log previously myself and deleted things that I thought were suspicious. Everything that I got rid of though were just minor application quick startup files and stuff, nothing malware.

do you think I should just turn off Dr. Watson according to the instructions at

The problems I get are, slow reaction times when opening IE (almost 9 seconds-really counting 1-onethousand-2onethousand-3). Sometimes Windows explorer will freeze and Media player will crash and show the debug error.

Download this zip.

Please unzip it to the desktop. It will not work if you run it from inside the zip.

After unzipped go to the desktop. Open the pv folder. Double click on the runme.bat

A dos window will open. Please select option 1 for explorer dll's by typing 1 and then pressing enter.

Notepad will open with a log in it. Please copy and paste the log into this post.

What version of WMP are you using?

If that is not 10, choose the correct language here:
http://www.microsoft...&displaylang=en and install it.

Yes, I am already using media player 10.

What do you think about the disabling of Dr. Watson? Or is there a way to decrease the activity of it?

You can disable it and see if that solves the problem.

I mean, if it is not helping to solve the problem, we may as well try and see if it isn't causing it.

Let me know.
