Computer Stupid - I need HELP Viruses

Please help, I'm absolutely computer stupid! I have pop-ups (kids are not allowed to even look at my computer at this time. New "Antivirus Software Alert" is popping up along with "Windows Security Alert". It's blocking everything. I've been trying to remove the WIADEBUG that I have now identified as a virus but can't even get my commands to run after going to Start>Run>CMD It's automatically being shut down, so I'm now not sure where to go!
I'm frustrated and don't want to resort to the recovery disc.
Please advice how I can identify and remove these viruses. Remember I need layman's terms. I can point and click and follow instructions but please be advised this problem is shutting down EVERYTHING I try to open! Superman, come to my rescue!!!
