This is great to hear. Now i would suggest following my suggestion for malware and have them check your system out before moving any files so that you don't infect the working installation.

Is there any way to either move my programs from my old installation to the new one or to recover my old installation so I don't have to reinstall everything?

You can move data but programs will have to be reinstalled.
This is why I suggest having the malware techs go through their scans they have you do and try to clean everything up for you. Once they have that all done then you can in reality go back to your original install and be fine.
