May not allow flash to upgrade or install
Is it a folder or just a file now that is the problem?
Have you tried booting to safe mode and see if the file will delete then?

Yes, I've tried to reboot in safe mode. That didn't work. It appears to just be the file.

Try the Adobe Flash Uninstaller

Sorry, but I have. I even tried to delete it using the manual instructions at Adobe. I even tried the Unrecoverable Delete option in Revo. Nothing seems to have any effect.
