I was trying to swap out my old desktop for a new laptop I just purchased. I was under the impression that all I would have to do is swap the ethernet line from my pc to the laptop. It will not allow us to connect to the internet. What should I do?

Hi j&j

I am not sure about windows 7, but in XP you need to run the "network setup wizard". In XP it is the control panel.
It is probably similar in win 7.
