I was unfortunate enough to get the xp antivirus 2010 on my system which I could not remove for love nor money...so I did a system restore...this is where I now have a problem

Although all my programs and files (itunes, avast, nero, my old music and picture files) are still 'searchable' on the start>search they won't work (the desk top items are still there but when they are clicked I get a message saying this is only valid for installed programs!!)

This means that the programs and files are taking up disc space and i'm not allowed to use them or install new versions of the programs because I get the message that they are already installed.

I have tried using the uninstallers (by searching) but this fails???

Has what i've written made sense??? Can anyone help either move these programs or files or indeed remove so I can reinstall??
