I have a Compaq computer with Windows XP Home SP2. I received a virus a couple weeks ago - trojan.* (not sure what the extension was). After restarting my computer I found that it now is stuck in a login loop. I talked to Microsoft and they helped me try to start in Safe Mode and Last Known Good Configuration, etc, but still the computer always gets stuck in the login loop.

I have found information on this website that shows how to repair this using the Windows XP reinstallation disk, but none was provided to me when I purchased my computer so I haven't been able to do this.

Does anyone know of a work around to solve this without the reinstallation disk?
