I'm trying to help out a friend whose HP laptop went bellyup. I tried to boot from CD (Win 7 Ultimate) but get the "Need to reinstall \system32\hal.dll" error message. I've searched this - and other - help boards, but I've only found possible fixes for XP. Any help here would be *greatly* appreciated!!
