Had a problem with my laptop awhile back and some support told me it was the hard drive. well i installed xp on the second drive.
this was not the problem but that is taken care of.
however, now when i open my d: folder i have all the program files and windows stuff.

is there a way to remove windows from this drive?
also, will it leave all the other folders intact?

thanks

Are you saying you have two hard drives in your laptop right now?

If you are booting to the new drive then just format the second drive.
If there is data on the 2nd you need copy it to the first drive. Programs will need to be reinstalled of course but data is movable.

Afraid of what?
If you installed XP on a new drive then the programs would all have to be reinstalled regardless.
The data is movable but in order for the programs themselves to work they have to be installed so they can write the correct entries into the new registry you now have.
