Hi. I found this when I ran a scan and the scan showed the counter.cab virus. Google is definitely my friend.

I went through the steps on http://www.geekstogo..._Log-t2852.html
and found a lot of things to clean up. The checklist was great, and I thank you all for the steps.

When I ran Trend Housecall, it showed the counter.cab*counter.exe* (or something) trojan. It said it couldn't clean, but asked me if I wanted to delete the file. I deleted the file.

I installed AVG, did a scan, and found nothing. I installed the Windows updates, then ran the Trend HouseCall once more and found nothing. I don't know if the computer is clean or not, though, since it said it couldn't clean but just deleted the file? I thought I should
paste my HiJackThis log just in case.

------

Am I clean after doing everything? Or is there more I need to do? If following the steps and deleting the file did everything, I'm sorry to have wasted a post, but I want to make completely sure.

Thanks so much for this forum.
