Notepad disappeared? not valid win32 app?

Anytime i try to open notepad or a file that requires notepad, i get an error:

"notepad is not a valid win32 application"

i looked on the internet and found nothing.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is often (but not always) caused by a malware infection so you should post your problem to the malware forum. We are not allowed to help with possible or definite malware infections in this forum.
