besides slowing down the read/writes (basically the whole system)...its unnecessary wear and tear on the drive and can/will shorten its lifeBut then again, I kindof like the thrashing and whirling noises.

I started the defrag this morning before I left for work. The last thing I need is to deal with a dead HDD.
