Welcome to Geeks To Go!

Drivers for on-board sound or video should first be looked for on the PC maker's website, and only obtained from the motherboard maker's website if the PC maker doesn't have any for your PC model. Reason is, the big PC builder's have drivers custom-made just for them, and they are the only people who can supply them. And because they are custom-made, drivers from elsewhere may not work.

The exception to the above rule of course is if the PC is custom-built, DIY-built etc. in which case it won't have a famous brand name so the motherboard manufacturer is your primary source for on-board device drivers.

If you already tried the PC maker, go to MSI driver check page using Internet Explorer (other browsers won't work with MSI driver check) and click the "Click Here" button.
IE may temporarily block driver check until you allow it by clicking the yellow notification bar that will pop up across the top. The MSI driver check page is here:
http://www.msi.com/i...c=downloadindex

If that doesn't work, please post make & model of the PC to give us another possible avenue to go down.

If this is an actual genuine MSI Board (which it may not be as MSI provided a lot of custom-tailored boards to the big manufacturers at the time), you can use the Live Update tool here:

The MSI6188 seems to trace back to IBM.
