The network drivers is the missing key and I'm sure you are correct 123Runner
A drivers disk would be handy.

Thats what I expected. Without going back through all the posts to see if we have what we need, Please do the following.

Download and install Free Everest Home Edition
Open it.
1: In left pane expand Computer folder.
2: Click once on Summary
3: In upper menu, go Report. Not the Report icon
4: And then to Quick Report-Summary
5: Save it in text file, and paste it in your next post.
Click the + by computer, click on Sensor. Get a screenshot and post it so I can check your temps and voltages...

DO NOT INCLUDE ANYTHING UNDER THE LINE THAT SAYS "DEBUG- PCI"

Is there anything else in Device management that has the ? or !

Go HERE
Scroll down to Network and get the first driver. That should be the one you need.

OK now that you have the driver you have to install it. Go into Device Manager and right click on the Network Device with the yellow exclamation mark. Then click on update and when it asks where it is point it to the location you saved file driver at.
If the driver is a self installing file then run it and you may have to restart the system to get it to complete.

Adapters as green you mean no yellow exclamation marks?
Network connections you mean network neighborhood?

I would bet 40vern that you are missing more than the network.
If I recall you installed from a XP cd. This would mean that you are missing the chipset drivers.
In post 120 I asked for what has yellow or red in device manager. You told us network.
We need to confirm that.

Please Go to
1: STARTand the click on RUN
2: Type in devmgmt.msc
3: Click Enter
4. Look for any entries with Yellow Exclamation ! marks or Red X's

In your next reply please include those results.
This time I want a screen shot.

Thanks

There are 8 different 2700 models as indicated HERE so to get the right chipset the model number has to be more precise.
