Un-Autorized phony spyware removal has corrupted my computer

I have used this service before and it is great - it has been a while but I have picked up and ugly virus which has corrupted my computer. It is a phony virus scanning service that overrides EVERYTHING on my computer. I cannot access anything. I had to open in safe mode to install the number of applications that this forum recommends prior to making a posting. Even in safe mode I have run into a few problems. 1) the MBAM application link that redirects you to download the scanning software does not work any longer (as per the link provided from this site)
2) when I download install and then run the OTL software scanner (which I understand has replaced HiJackThis) it FREEZES when it gets to the "HKEY" section or part of the scan.

Currently I am sending this email to you via my notebook - it is the desktop that is infected.

Any help would as always be greatly appreciated
