i was playing a game with team speak but they couldn't hear me.
turns out my sister had plugged the mic into the speaker socket and the speakers into the mic socket.
so i swapped them around and nothing happened. i opened audacity and it couldn't hear me even though i was moving the mic around.
next i restarted and put a different mic in. nothing. my speakers work .
so i though maybe its the mic socket??
anyway next day comes around and the mic is working.
so what's going on?

My guess is that the electrical connections that make up your sockets went on the fritz (real technical term, I know, but without taking a look at it it's hard to make a diagnosis).

If your mic is working fine now, you have nothing to worry about.
