I'm trying to run OTL but it just seems to be eating more and more memory, I'm literally watching it on task manager go up each second.
It's using 50% cpu and 207,785k memory atm, by the time I finished writing this it was at 214,364k
...it's now at 280,000k, I've stopped it now. I don't think it is meant to be taking this long, am I wrong?

You need to start new topic at malware forum and ask your questions regarding OTL there.

Did your laptop came with Windows 7 installed?
Go Start>Run ("Start Search" in Vista/7), type in:
sfc /scannow
Click OK (hold CTRL, and SHIFT, hit Enter in Vista/7).
Have Windows CD/DVD handy (with Vista/7, most likely, you won't need it).
If System File Checker (sfc) will find any errors, it may ask you for the CD/DVD (rarely in Vista/7 case).

Click OK (hold CTRL, and SHIFT, hit Enter in Vista/7).
Do you mean in the run menu just press ok? or do this (hold CTRL, and SHIFT, hit Enter in Vista/7).
I don't quite get what you mean.

Ok, I did the scan and It seemed to just close. I assume that means it didn't find anything?

It won't tell you. There is a report, which we can access, but the most important thing now is, if your computer is doing any better.
