hey i wanted to ask you guys, sometimes on some web pages it says stuff like this "The requested URL /doubleclick/DARTIframe.html was not found on this server." Like it wont open some banners up. Could that be from the codec problem?

It looks like you will need to get a XP cd then. Borrow one from someone but it has to be the same type as what you have on your system...Home, Media or Pro

hey I havent solved this problem yet, still no sound from the web. i went to drivermax agent and downloaded program, they listed all drivers that were outdated. My sound controller driver was SoundMAX so they told me to update the driver so I did, now when i go to my sound and audio properties it says my driver is called "Vinyl AC'97 Audio(WAVE)". Either way I am still having same problem, I am attaching pic of screenshot of the rest of drivers they are telling me are outdated. Do you think downloading any of these could have anything to do with my problem. Once again, thanks for the help.

You would have two ways to obtain one.
Borrow one from a friend or someone you know to do the tests
OR
Purchase one from somewhere like TigerDirect or NewEgg.
