I just registered last night as I found this group searching for the error message I've been getting. Hi! Hope you can help me out.

I have gone through all the steps suggested, before posting a HijackIt file. I came out clean in Ad Aware, so I didn't post it in the corresponding forum.

What happened? I performed the Windows 3.1 updater update. Then I downloaded some photos and video clips from my camera. While I was downloading the files, I got a Norton message saying it had blocked an attempt of the Nimda virus. I clicked on OK and continued. Now, each time I want to open a video file, I get the same results a lot of other people are getting. My computer freezes and I have to click on Ctrl/Alt/Del to get Taskmanager and end the program.

I use Spybot and Adaware regularly and update Norton every day. I looked for the files that AceBot is supposed to have, but I can't find them. I am posting HijackIt, Ewido and Panda scan. I scanned with Norton and came out clean.

What could be happening? What can I do?!! I was currently burning my dvd tapes to dvd and can't do anything now:-(

I really appreciate any help you can give me.

Thank you!

UPDATE:

Hope this is not considered "bumping". I think this is important to whoever might help. Wish I knew how to change the topic title as I think, when the following problem is fixed, Dr. Watson will work.

I disabled Dr. Watson and now I get this error, when I try to open a video!

The instruction at "OxO1f4415b? referenced memory at ""0x00000000". The memory could not be "written". Click OK to terminate the program.

I think something got corrupted, when I downloaded the clips and photos and Norton caught the virus. I just scanned and defragged. The same problem.

Hope someone has an idea what can be happened!

Thank you!

Sorry, I could not wait. I did a System Restore and the problem is gone. Two system check points didn't work, but I had made a Restore point last Sunday and that worked.

I wish I could have known what really happened. The moment, I restored, the Windows Update for the 3.1 Updated appeared again. I'm not doing that!

I have learned quite a few things posting in this group. Surely cleaned my computer! I have added a couple of good programs too. Had to reinstall them.

Take care!
