I have some troubling things happening in XP. First, my screensaver ceased to work. (won't keep scrensvr defaults) no big deal, right? Second, all of a sudden Internet Explorer & Firefox can't connect & Avant browser is giving me problems when it comes up. I may have deleted a shared .dll file as I was removing another app. I do not have An XP install disc. Please, somebody give me a little help (& hope).

First I'm going to refer you to the malware forum.. These symptoms show similar signs. Follow these instructions; if you are still having trouble after receiving a clean bill of health from a malware expert, you may return to this forum.

Move to the Malware Forum!

Please read the Malware and Spyware Cleaning Guide and follow the instructions thoroughly, starting at the top...

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- then post an OTL log in the MALWARE forum.

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from a malware expert, please return to this thread.
