Recently my Mbps have been dropping to around 1 Mbps. It usually is around 56 Mbps. I have a Linksys wireless-G adapter. And an Apple Airport extreme router. It is only on this Pc that it is dropping. I have a laptop that is fine.

Quite a number of things can cause wireless to slow down. Do you have a cordless phone of 2.4GHz near the PC or Airport?
If you draw a straight line from the adapter on the PC to the Airport, how many inches of solid material does the signal pass through? For every inch (2.5cm) of solid material, the signal will be attenuated by 5-10 feet (1.53 to 3.06m).

You can try placing the Airport and Linksys adapter as high in the vertical plane as possible. You can also switch just the channel of the Airport to another which your neighbours are not using. How can you tell? Use InSSIDer.
