Hi there,
Need some help with my internet connection.

Recently used HijackThis & Malwarebytes to scrub Antivirus Soft from my computer. Rebooted and the virus seems to be gone, all other files intact.

Now, Internet Explorer (IE) will not load webpages (it attempts to connect but webpage area remains blank / white). All online toolbars appear, just can't get a webpage to load.

I've unplugged / reset the modem, which did not correct the problem.

Funny thing is, Full Tilt Poker works fine! So, this tells me its not a connection issue, just something funky with IE.

Ran a scan and the results were:
Default Outlook Express Mail, InBoundMailServer = pop3 FAILED. Ping request could not find host pop3.
OutBoundMailServer = smpt FAILED. Ping request could not find host smpt.
IE Web Proxy 127.0.0.1 FAILED

Any ideas on how to correct or what I should check?

Please read the Malware/Spyware cleaning guide here follow the instructions at the top....

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty (and you may not be) then post an OTL log in THE MALWARE FORUM forum.
(Posting OTL logs or ANY other logs requested in the malware/spyware cleaning guide in any other forum other than the malware forum is forbidden. If you post any of these logs in any other forum, it will be removed and it will take you longer to get help, so please make sure you only post logs in the malware forum)

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread..

Thanks for the quick reply dsenette :) I'll do some more cleaning and will only return to this forum should the problem persist (post a clean bill of health).

Close this thread if you like.

Best,
