[Spoon]

Hello - I am in need of help.

After children were using computer, noticed many problems. Since then, I have spent days researching and cleaning off what I could. It seems the Aurora/Nail stuff (at least) has infected our machine. I have tried manual deletions, Norton scans, Ad-Aware scans and Ediwo scans with no luck.

Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated - as re-formatting is the only option I see right now.

Download L2mfix from one of these two locations:

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Close any programs you have open since this step requires a reboot.
From the l2mfix folder on your desktop, double click l2mfix.bat and select option #2 for Run Fix by typing 2 and then pressing enter, then press any key to reboot your computer. After a reboot, your desktop and icons will appear, then disappear (this is normal). L2mfix will continue to scan your computer and when it's finished, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it back into this thread, along with a new hijackthis log.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other files in the l2mfix folder unless you are asked to do so!

Check the items listed below in HijackThis, close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

Hi there - hope we are making good progress.

Here is what I did:

1. Ran HijackThis
2. Ran Fix Checked on the two items you listed
3. Rebooted
4. Ran HijackThis and those two items did not appear in the scan
5. Ran the registry command you gave
6. Rebooted
7. Ran HijackThis
8. The two items you listed again do not appear. The log details are posted below.

Are there remaining steps - or do you think it is gone?
