last night my pc shut down then came back on and alerted me that i have multiple infections, am at risk and the program that did all this is antivir and it wanted me to run a file that just appeared out of the blue. I had avast! and evidently it got by it. So i went to microsoft essentials and put it in and ran another scan and now there seems to be no more problem. what i want to find out is if i could still be at risk and need to take some kind of further action or is the microsoft security essentials a good enough security option to not have to worry? And lastly,IF i had a trojan or two when the avast! scanned why isn't the microsoft essentials picking it up?
