I've got a quick question for anyone who is 100% sure about these questions.
1.) If I were to type in my Half-Life 2 CD-key but then reinstall my OS (Microsoft XP Home), will I be able to use the CD Key again when i reinstall HL2/CS:Source on my reset computer?

2.) Also, how many times and on how many different computers can I use my one CD key?

not sure speccifically about HL2. If you can install it and not have to connect to the internet it will be fine. If you connect to the internet to install then the cd key won't work again. If no internet connection you could use it on as many computers as you want. Most likely you can reinstall windows and it will still work

your cd-key is registered with your Steam ID, which is your email address that you registered with.
All you gotta do with the reset computer is download steam and sign in. then let Steam update and download the necessary game files for the game you want to play.

Once you register a game with a cd key under a steam account, you dont need the cdkey again

i have a new question about half life 2. should i start a new topic or just keep going?

new question: what video card do you reccomend for playing HL2? Right now I have a 32MB Rage Ultra. I need something that will run the game very smoothly but that is not expensive.
