Hi Keepitsmart,

Well where to start....I'm not suprised your PC is dying a slow death :tazz: If it was an animal it would be put down.

Lets start off by running a free online virus scan from the link below. Enter your name, for company type anything you like and add email address in the relevant boxes.

Kaspersky

Next download the folowing program but do not run it yet.

Cleanup

Next, please download the following two programs. Install them and update them both. Then run each one and have them fix anything that they may find.

Spybot Search and Destroy 1.3

Ad-aware S E 1.5

Click Start > Run > and type in:

services.msc

Click OK.

In the services window find Service: Trace network connections (ACCRA
Rightclick and choose "Properties". On the "General" tab under "Service Status" click the "Stop" button to stop the service. Beside "Startup Type" in the dropdown menu select "Disabled". Click Apply then OK. Exit the Services utility.

Now reboot into SAFE MODE by tapping the F8 key whilst your PC starts up. Select SAFE MODE.

Use Ctrl/Alt/Delete...processes and if the following sre running, end task them

jptdjjh.exe
wavplay.exe
adsblock.exe

Rescan with HJT and check the following if still present (some may have been removed by previous procedures)

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,Default_Search_URL = http://balabolka.biz/start.html
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,Default_Search_URL = http://balabolka.biz/start.html

it wont allow me to install the spybot...i already had adware. so skip the spybot step and run adware then continue on? let me know what to do. thanks.

when i dled spybot i clicked to install and it does nothing. for awhile i was running into this problem with spydoctor but then i guess a virus i cleaned out enabled me to eventually install it.

Hi keepitsmart,

I'll give you all the advice once we get this cleaned up. We are making good progress.

Ding Ding ....round 2

Enter the Windows Control Panel and double-click on Add/Remove Programs.

When the installed programs list appears, double-click on the entry for Windows AFA Internet Enhancement if it exists and allow it to uninstall. Then exit the Add/Remove Programs screen and the Control Panel.

Reboot into SAFE MODE then scan with HJT. Check the following entries.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [C:\WINDOWS\VCMnet11.exe] C:\WINDOWS\VCMnet11.exe
O16 - DPF: {2F5B39C5-C6F5-447A-A946-48B382C53985} - http://www.pacimedia...ll/pcs_0029.exe
O16 - DPF: {47CD99DF-8BCF-4B9B-94EF-02E51B2F79DA} - http://www.alwaysupd...ll/aun_0035.exe
O16 - DPF: {7149E79C-DC19-4C5E-A53C-A54DDF75EEE9} (IObjSafety.DemoCtl) - http://cabs.media-mo...abs/diamond.cab
O23 - Service: Trace network connections (ACCRA) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\System32\mocih.exe (file missing)

Ensure no windows open except HJT and click FIX CHECKED.

Using Windows explorer locate and delete the following :

C:\WINDOWS\system\jptdjjh.exe
C:\WINDOWS\VCMnet11.exe

Reopen HJT and click on MIsc tools section, then on delete an NT SERVICE.

In the popup box copy and paste

ACCRA

Reboot PC normally, Rescan with HJT and post the log back.

Ok, I did all those steps, however, the services.msc file wouldn't do anything. it said cannot open and then it gave a few reasons why like maybe it was made later with mmc or i might not have the right to it and one nother i cant recall. so when i tried to delete the ACCRA via HJT it wouldn't allow it said the ACCRA is running and to stop it with either the services.msc or with HJT.

Ok, here is Round 2 Report...

We might need to hit this several ways. Although this malware is no longer active as the file is missing, it is just residue that i like to clear out

Please do this:

Go to start - run
type: services.msc and click OK
Find this in the list:
Trace network connections (ACCRA)
Rightclick that line and choose properties
Click the stop-button under status of service
In the pulldownmenu next to startuptype choose disabled
Check that the the startup key is not marked Automatic, if so, disabled it
Click Apply

Open a command prompt window. Click Start>Run, type CMD, and then press the Enter.
At the command prompt, type the following:
NET STOP "Trace network connections (ACCRA)"
Press Enter. A message should indicate that the service has been stopped successfully.
Close the command prompt window.

Then open HijackThis and put a check to these items:
O23 - Service: Trace network connections (ACCRA) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\System32\mocih.exe (file missing)

close all windows and press 'fix checked'.

Reboot the computer. Please post me a fresh log.

k, when i go a start > run and type services.msc this is what it says...

"MMC cannot open the file C:\Windows\System 32\services.msc

This may be because the file does not exist, is not an MMC console, or was created by a later version of MMC. This may also be because you do not have sufficient access rights to the file."

So what do I do since this is happening? Do I skip that step and do the CMD step?

thanks for taking so much time with me, much appreciated.

Apart from that 1 023 entry your log is clean. The file is missing so the service is just debris.

I'll see what other avenues are open to us to clear it.
