everquest won't start

ever sinc ei got Microsoft Visual C++, everquest hasn't really been starting, it did for like 1 or 2 runs, but after that, it goes and runs the patcher, but then when i try to play the game, it goes and gives me a error box saying that an error has accored, and 2 options, Debug or close, and debug just brings up visual c++ and gives me a permission error, so, any help, short of re-installing Everquest? i am thinking un-installuing visual c++ might help, but i don't know
