my IE8 32bit does not open but IE8 64bit does. I didn't have this problem a few days ago. When I try to reinstall IE8. I get a message that "IE8 is not supported in this system". I'm running windows 7 64bit.

I've run into some people who have had the same problem, specifically with it beginning a few days ago. I've seen recommendations for resetting the winsock catalog and running the system file checker to insure integrity. To reset the winsock catalog for windows 7, you'll want to open an elevated command prompt window.

Click start >> all programs >> accessories >> right click on "command prompt"; left click on "Run as Administrator". Once the command prompt window is open, type in:

netsh winsock reset

and then press enter. After this you'll need to restart your computer. Also, the system file checker instructions are located here.

Hope this helps.
