I'm pretty certain i've delete the malware from my registry and removed the wp.exe and all that. I've ran Kaspersky Online Scan. and also the HJT. i still don't have full function of my properties tab on my desktop. i have 4 tabs available (Themes, Screen Saver, Appearance, Settings.) Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i ran a few more things last night. like ewido security suite, and adaware and spybot again. i also found that i'm having problems with IE as well. anytime i open it the navigation bar reads "about:blank". i didn't really notice this b/c i stopped using IE a while ago i now use Mozilla FireFox. anyway....... here's the latest HJT log with everything you need i guess.

Open Notepad. Copy EVERYTHING in the box below and paste it into a new notepad file. Change the 'Save As Type' to "All Files" and save it as fix.reg on your desktop. Make sure there is NO blank line above REGEDIT4:

Go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and remove the following if found:

STHomePage

Exit Add/Remove Programs.

Make sure you are disconnected from the Internet and that all programs and windows are closed. Run HiJackThis. Place a check next to the following items, if found and click FIX CHECKED:

seems to be running fine. i didn't find STHomePage in the Add/Remove Programs. but i did find it in C:\Program Files\STHomePage. i did delete it.

doesn't seem to be any problems. i think the only one left is the IE problem. i don't know if it'll cause problems down the road. i guess i would also like to finally get SP2 now that i have all the malware off here. but i believe i told windows update that i never wanted it to remind me about SP2 again. so i don't know where to find it.

Your log is clean.

So this is about the only other option:

Download, install, and run CleanUp! (so the below scan won't take as long because cleanup will clear temporary files and cookies) Cleanup! deletes EVERYTHING out of temporary/temp files and does not make backups. If you have anything you need in temporary folders, back it up or move it prior to running cleanup!

Then, please run this online virus scan:
ActiveScan

Copy the results of the ActiveScan and paste them here along with a new HiJackThis log.
