Ok my friend asked me to fix thier laptop. Everytime I would log in the screen would just go black after with no cursor. It worked fine in safe mode. I tried reinstalling a few drivers to see if that would resolve it but nothing changed. I used a vista recovery disc and repaired the start up stuff and now i can get into windows the last few times i tried but it says that the account didnt load properly and changes will not be saved. Apparently it had the black screen problem for a while and seems to happen every now and then until recently its been happening more than not. I think i fixed the black screen problem( not sure cuz she said it didnt happen all the time) but this is a school laptop so i'd like to fix the lig-in issue without reformatting.
