Hello!

Well, I have managed to get my computer to start in "normal" mode, though i don't know how...

However, it still shuts down during any kind of virus scan. I have Tried AVG, Ad-aware SE, Ewido, Panda Activescan, Trend Housecall, etc...

The last thing i saw when i ran avg was Trojan downloader.small.37.AW located in C:/ml00!.exe , but it shut down before avg finished. so i rebooted, tracked down ml00!.exe and deleted it. then i ran avg again. It ran for a little longer, and it didn't find the trojan, but the computer still shut down after about 6 mins. And I mean shut down like someone cut the power. Just on one second, off the next. ;)

I ran CWShredder; it found nothing. Neither did TDS-3.

Also, my virtual scroll on my touchpad doesn't work anymore. I don't know if its related, but it's sure a pain in the [bleep].

I am quickly running out of ideas. ;) :tazz:

I have attached a hijack this log. Please Help! Thanks in advance.

Download and run About:Buster from:
http://www.majorgeek...wnload4289.html
It usually takes two runs to get cleaned.

Download and run CWShredder from:
http://www.intermute...r_download.html
Use the Fix button.

Check the items listed below in HijackThis, close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing

Reboot into safe mode and try scanning there.

Thanks for the help, Metallica. After doing some more research, I think I got to the root of the problem. The cpu was overheating. I downloaded a utility to monitor fan speed and cpu temp, and my cpu temp was at 72 deg. C!!! ;) During a scan it would heat up and shut itself off. Apparently, my heatsink was full of dust. I blew it out with an air compressor, and a huge cloud of dust came out. Then I tried running a virus scan again, and it made it all the way thru, and never went above 52 deg. Much better. Everything seems to be working better now, except for Opera, but i think thats a topic for a different forum. Thanks for your help! :tazz:
