Scanner Issue

Everytime I scan something and then try to access it for editing, I find the scanned project has gone to Window Picture and Fax program where it is un-editable or the scanned project has failed to show some parts of the material I am scanning. What program do I need to correct these issues?

PC/Printer Stats:

Printer is a Lexmark 4650
PC is a Dell XPS 400
OS - XP Pro

as yet do not have a burning program.

Can advise?

Save the scan to wherever you wish, depending on the scanner, you may not be able to use quick scan for this option. Then open the saved document by right clicking, choose open with and select your program as appropriate.
