Hi,

I'm trying to reinstall XP but now it's a real mess. When I try to restart the computer it only goes into XP professional startup, then I get a blue screen that says A PROBLEM HAS BEEN DETECTED AND WINDOWS HAS BEEN SHUT DOWN TO PREVENT DAMAGE,

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

It won't let me move up to start in regular xp professional mode, it's stuck.

I used an old xp cd, sp2. Maybe it's to old but I've used it before, I can't remember if I ever updated to SP3, I guess I did. I can't get rid of the blue screen error page. I don't know what to do.

Let's make something clear.
You finished Windows installation and at some point later you started getting BSOD?

Is it legit Windows CD?
Did you try to clean it?
At what point of installation are you getting the error?

Did I clean what? The computer? I ran as much spyware as I could, if I run spybot halfway through the computer restarts, it's a mess. I get the blue screen with error message when it asks me if I want to repair or reload a fresh xp. No matter which I choose I get the blue screen. It's not an official xp cd but I have used it before, maybe two years ago.

If it's a bootleg CD, unfortunately I can't help you. It'd be against board rules. I'm sorry.
