My Avast antivirus not working

Hello-
My computer crashed earlier tonight. When I restarted the computer my Avast was no longer running. It showed that it was "UNSECURED" AND "MODULE NOT RUNNING". It would not let me turn it on when the button was pressed. I uninstalled and reinstalled with the same result. Any help would be appreciated!
