Having problems with computer going into power save mode. When I try to reboot it shows vertical blue lines on screen and power saves again. I am able to run safe mode though.

After reading some other topics on similar problems I tried reinstalling my drivers but it went into power save mode before completing install. Retried in Safe mode but says it installed with errors.

Prior to this I was having problems with freeze ups and then the powerstrip surge protector computer was plugged into blew out. Could this have caused the power save problems?
