how do i fix application or dll missing files

hi im new to the site and computers so i will try and explain best i can

i recently had a antivirus xp pop up i have had help deleting it and all is good but while it was on my pc it turned my fire wall off etc, now im have troubles opening any program in control panel like firewall or security icons i get a msg pop up saying not found or programfiles\windows\messenger\misima32.dll is not vaild pls check against your installation diskelet and the other was c:windows/system32run32.exe
and the programs im able to access i get a detour instead of clicking and bingo i have it i click and a box pops up asking me to choose appropriate program this happens when i use firefox or ie8 ,plus 1 more c:\programfiles\java\jre6\lib\deploy\jsq\ff\..\..\..\..\bin\jqsnotify.exe not found as well any solutions would b great i figure i have a missing link some where that connects everything
ive tryed downloading a repair but i have it and cant open it as its not found as well pls help thanks smurf007
