Hi my name is Nathaniel and I'm having some issues with my computer. Recently I got a virus called Antimalware XP or something close to that name. I researched on how to get rid of it and Malwarebytes was the solution. I downloaded it from my laptop and transferred it to my PC. Once it was on the desktop, I couldn't open it. So I went into safe mode and it suggested I could do a system restore. At the time i thought it was a good idea so i did so. I restored my computer back to the day before the virus was on my computer. Turns out it was a bad idea. Now every so ofter if I'm playing a game (Ex: World of Warcraft) and exit the game or press my Windows key on my keyboard the system will not let me do anything. I can't open any files, the little area that comes up when you press the Windows key won't go away, and it's just a basic nightmare. Please help if you can.

Thank you,
Nathaniel

hi A Perfect Circle and :)

Are you able to get into windows at all?
You most likely have not got rid of all the malware.
We need to be sure that your computer is clean. If it is not, then any attempts here would be fruitless.

I suggest you go to the Malware Removal and Spyware Removal Forum and run all the steps located in the START HERE. These self-help tools will help you clean up 70% of problems on your own. If you are still having problems after doing the steps, then please post the reguested logs in THAT forum. If you are unable to run any of the tools then start a new topic in the malware forum and put this in the subject line...I am unable to run any malware tools

If you are still having problems after being given a clean bill of health from the malware expert, then please return to THIS thread and we will pursue other options to help you solve your current problem(s).

Add a link to this topic so that malware tech can see what steps have been taken here
