I received the blue background on my desktop stating that I had been infected with Trojan-spy.html.smitfraud.c
I also noticed that my internet home page had been changed. Since it attached itself to the restore files, I turned off this feature as a precaution until I permantly remove this infection. I found that it appeared I was removing the virus/spyware, but when I restarted the restore files brought back the infection. I did as this site stated -- performed a windows cleanup and scanned (both in Safe Mode and regular mode) repeatedly with CWSweeper, AdAware, Microsoft Antispyware Beta1, Stinger, Spybot S&D, TDS 3, and Ewido Antivirus.
It looks like I may have eradicated the problem but I'm not sure since a scan with XoftSpy says I still have infected registry.
I have attached my latest HJT log. Please check it out. Thanks
