I have an hp pavilion 6700 laptop. It's a friends that she bought but it didn't have a hard drive. She bought a new Western Digital 320GB WD3200BEVT Laptop Hard Drive SATA. I installed it in the laptop but when I insert the windows xp cd a hit enter to start setup it says "Setup didn't find any hard disk drives installed in your computer". I ran a primary hard disk self test. I'm assuming this is testing the hard drive. It passed the quick, comprehensive, and S.M.A.R.T. tests. Bottom of laptop says product: HP Pavilion dv6700 s/n:CNF8341HPJ p/n:KL090AC. I don't see the HDD Mode under BIOS. I also don't see a hard drive listed under any of the bios categories (main, securicty, diagnostics, system config, exit) Any ideas?
Thanks

I got everything working. I did disable the FBI GUI manager because it kept causing the OS install to fail.
Thanks
