Does anyone know where I can download some free software? I mean truly free, not just trial offers or stuff that scans for free and then you have to purchase. I would like to find a free registry fixer and a free defragmenter programs. Thanks in advance :)

CCleaner has a lightweight registry cleaner you can use. Only advanced users should work with their registry settings, as incorrect changes to the registry can cause system instability or failure.

I also enjoy using good software especially when it is free. One of the first places I check is Gizmo's. You will usually find an extensive array of free utilities/applications. Gizmo's site can be found by following this link: http://www.techsupportalert.com

I would also highly recommend that you NOT tinker with your registry unless you are a very knowledgeable user. If you decide to make changes to the registry either manually or by using a utility in spite of all the above advice to not do so, make sure that you backup the content of your registry first and know how to restore it if/when it is required.

a good way to get free software, browse pc mags at your local newsagent to see what free software is offered and then go to that mags website to look at reviews.
