First of all, I apologize if this was posted in the wrong Forum, wasn't quite sure where else this topic would fit.

Anyways, I've recently become interested in buying a PS3, having been a PS2 owner since it's release it would only make sense to upgrade.

My only concern is that of my TV, which is a pretty standard 22-inch tube-TV (Gasp!), amazing 6-7 years ago, but a scrap of plastic nowadays.

I've heard that you pretty much need an HDTV to make the PS3 worth it, otherwise you're just paying for the brand and new games, is this true?

Thanks in advance.

i have a PS3 an i play it one a tube T.V i find it just fine but it is alot better with a HDTV with surround sound it just comes down to how much your going to play and how much your willing to spend but i think you'll be fine with a tube :)

In my opinion a dated TV isn't bad, but if you are going to do it on a non-HD TV it should be bigger so that you at least get a better experience.

It won't be HD obviously - but if it's a decent size then I wouldn't worry frankly. Games look great, the colour on tube TV's can still be great.
