http://www.primopdf.com/index.aspx get a PDF printer and print the word documents to PDF
or you can purchase acrobat professional, which gives you the option to combine documents into PDF by highlighting them and converting them to PDF

Thank you I have something like Primo installed. I presume that Primo is like that and can only do one document at a time. I know I can 'saveAs' and save in PDF. Looks like I will have to do each one.

Thanks I did down load Primo and managed to be able to bulk change the files by dragging them into the desktop icon. It then re-saves them in PDF back in the same folder.

i was totally unaware that primo could do that....learn something new every day right?

Yes. Id didn't like me trying to do 60 at a time but 4 or 5 no problem. The best thing was it save it in the original folder
