Microsoft Word 2002 corner indicators

Ever since I reinstalled Microsoft Word 2002 there are gray corner indicators in all four corners of the page. Is there any way to turn them off. They were never there before I reinstalled. Please see picture here:

Thank you, I will test this tip out a little later today. It will require inserting a disc in the effected computer, which at this time would be inconvenient as Mama is using said PC. :)

I'll let you know if this resolves the issue. :)
