ION VCR2PC hardware not recongnized

Greetings.
My first time here.
I purchased an ION VCR2PC unit which when plugged into my computer, allows you to transfer VHS tapes ( in this case family movies ) to my PC, so i can burn them to a CD.
My problem is i cant get my PC to recognize the hardware. I've uninstalled and reinstalled this about five times and no luck.
Any suggestions?
