A friend has a dell dv6000 laptop which has a screen that does not light up, she took it back to best buy and was told that she needed to replace the lcd inverter. I ordered an inverter for her, removed the bezel on the laptop and replaced it. the screen still will not light up. It turns out that hp has recalled a lot of this model because it has had mother board problems. Unfortunately hers was not on the recall list. She has decided that it would be easier to buy a new machine than repair this one. I am not ready to give up. At the lease I would like to recover her files from this machine. Does anyone know how I could remove her hardrive and install it into another laptop to retrieve her files.
