Btw, checked again and the message that comes up before the connection breaks down is something along the lines of 'Generic host process has encountered a problem in win 32 systems...'. I am then invited to send a message or not and, whatever option I take, the connection breaks off and I have to run the winsock repair gadget you provided in an earlier post to repair or renew the connection.

All the items to check showed up on the Hijack This scan. The c:\WINDOWS\ file didn't show up in a search though. Anyway, here's the latest scan. Thanks.

No need to search for c:\windows\ just go straight to it. Go to My Computer->C:\WINDOWS\System32\ and delete vbsys2.dll if it exists.

After you ran the WinsockFix, do you still have the problem now with the error meesage? If so, do this:

Run an online virus scan using Panda ActiveScan at http://www.pandasoft...ucts/activescan. Post the log from the Panda scan here.
