Windows 7 (0xc0000142) error

alright so im running on Windows 7 64bit OS

the other day, i downloaded Age of Empires 3 and got it to worked, it worked perfectly fine for a couple days. Then i get this error:

"The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142).
Click OK to close the application"

theres nothing wrong with the game, cause ive unistalled it and reinstalled it many,many,MANY! times.

please help, i would like to know what the cause of it is and how to fix it (if i can).

I may be completely off-base with this but I have heard that Realtek 3D Sound can cause this error on Windows 7.

wow, maybe that's it! I've got realtek 3d sound on my machine and it gives the 0xc0000142 error when trying to start certain games
