This may be caused by virus detection that is built into your computer...etc

I have gone into bios and made sure that virus detection is not enabled. but when i try to setup win.98 this error appears.
Can somebody give me instructions on how to cure the problem. Your help will be appreciated thanks

yes, but GOBACK is not a normal program...was it installed? Goback alters your master boot record and creates a hidden partition...the program must be removed (if it was on there)

It would be helpful to know if goback was, or was not ever installed.

Do you have a goback cd laying around (their is a DOS removal tool on that)

GoBack caused me a major problem once. A friend brought me a computer to upgrade to win 98 from win 95, only it wouldn't boot up at all. fdisk and stuff didn't work. I erased the HD, using some utility i found online and then fdisk worked. gerryf might have a better solution, but that worked for me.
