I just picked up a usb to ide adapter the other day, hooked up an old hard drive I had sitting around, and my computer wouldn`t recognize it, I checked the jumper settings on the hd, and it was set at cable select, I changed it to master, hooked it back up to computer, bingo recognized. So, you never know, but I definitely like how 123Runner says it, "It`s the miracle of electronics". Nothing is etched in stone.

You know, I was going to suggest the jumper thing, and then I decided to just ask the questions that I had asked and find that answer first. :)

Good think 123runner.
