HELP! I am not a computer person at all, and don't know what half this stuff you are talking about is... however, I have Windows Vista home edition (I think), and I have been getting an error message "Application cannot be executed. The file wmiadap.exe is infected. Do you want to activate your antivirus software now?" then at the bottom, it is calling the file wuauclt.exe. Either way, it isn't letting me do anything online, nor can I pull up the whole ctrl/alt/delete thing.

I do have the full version of Norton, and have never let it lapse.

Please help me.

Thank you very much.

Hi and Welcome to Geeks to Go! :)

I suggest posting a new thread in the Virus, Spyware and Trojan Removal Forums. Also, be sure to check out the Malware and Spyware Cleaning Guide. This will help you disinfect the majority of malicious software from your system.
